New York, NY (August 27, 2018)—In partnership with the New York City-based Academy for Teachers, the Academy of American Poets is pleased to announce the On Teaching Poem Prize. This $1,000 award will be given to honor the best previously unpublished poem written about K–12 teaching and/or teachers.
The winning poem will be published in the Academy of American Poets popular Poem-a-Day series in May 2019 and published on Poets.org. A finalist will also be chosen and awarded $500.
The judge is Presidential Inaugural Poet and Academy of American Poets Education Ambassador Richard Blanco.
