Meg Matich is the unabashed founder of the Reykjavik (where she lives) Poetry Brothel. She received her MFA from Columbia University and her BA from SVC. She’s a translator of Icelandic and German-language literature, whose translations have appeared/are forthcoming in The Boston Review, Words Without Borders, Asymptote, and others. Her first book, Cold Moons (Phoneme Media, 2017) by Magnús Sigurðsson, received a PEN/Heim Translation Fund grant, and is currently being turned into a choral symphony (English). Otherwise, she’s received grants and fellowships from the Fulbright Comission, the DAAD, the Banff Centre, the Icelandic Literature Center, etc, and is optimistically at work on two thin anthologies of contemporary Icelandic poetry (fall 2018). Since its inception in 2008, the Saint Vincent College Visiting Writers Series has brought writers of merit to our campus in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. In addition to poets hailing from across the country, the series targets international writers in translation as well as writers from Western Pennsylvania.
