Today we spotlight Poetry Minute, a collaboration between The University of Arkansas Press and NPR affiliate KUAF in celebration of National Poetry Month. Every day in April, KUAF will air a poem read by a poetry enthusiast with a Northwest Arkansas connection. The segments will air four times a day on KUAF and be archived on their website, kuaf.com.

The city of West Hollywood is celebrating National Poetry Month with a variety of events and workshops to celebrate the art of the written word. Steven Reigns, who was selected as West Hollywood's first official City Poet in 2014, curated this month’s line-up of events and conceived of the Lamppost Banners project.
Today we feature two National Poetry Month celebrations in Vermont: PoemCity and PoemTown. PoemCity brings a wide array of programs to Montpelier, Vermont, including workshops; readings by poets from around the state; musical, art, and theatrical poetry presentations; and open mics. During April, work by contemporary Vermont poets will be on display in downtown Montpelier.

We are excited to announce that we will be collaborating with Papyrus to celebrate poetry in their stores this National Poetry Month. On April 18, we'll co-present poetry readings at three of Papyrus's New York City locations:
This National Poetry Month, through our Dear Poet project, we're inviting students in grades 5-12 to engage with poetry by watching videos of some of the award-wining poets who serve on our Board of Chancellors sharing their poems and writing letters to the poets in response to the poems. We've also created a Common Core-aligned lesson plan to accompany the project.

As we head toward National Poetry Month, which begins on Wednesday, we feature the Gluck Fellows Program of the Arts at the University of California, Riverside, which will host free poetry events in April. Inspired by the work of Academy Chancellor and UCR Professor of Poetry Emeritus Juan Felipe Herrera, the Gluck Fellows Program is teaming up with Riverside institutions to bring readings and writing workshops to the public.
Today's featured National Poetry Month event is the O, Miami Poetry Festival, which takes place every April and aims to ensure that every single person in Miami-Dade County encounters a poem during the month. O, Miami kicks off on April 1 with a poetic boat ride up the Miami River, and ends on April 30 with a teen poetry and music competition.
