Residents of Minot, North Dakota, are celebrating National Poetry Month with Poetry Palooza, co-presented by Full STEAM Ahead, Humanities North Dakota, and the Minot Public Library.
 
Recently concluded programs include an open mic hosted by Classic Rock Coffee and a poetry and pottery workshop. Poetry Palooza's final event will be an ice cream social and reading at Main Street Books on April 27.

Launched in 2011, Northfield, Minnesota’s Sidewalk Poetry initiative showcases new poems by its residents on pedestrian walkways each year.
 
The poems, selected from a contest judged by a panel of local artists and civic leaders, are published and broadcasted by KYMN Radio in April. And in May, weather permitting, poems will be imprinted on Northfield’s sidewalks.

San Francisco Public Library is celebrating National Poetry Month this year with readings by world-renowned poets, film screenings about national poets laureate, blackout poetry crafts, and more.

Events not to miss for the remainder of April include a reading by Tongo Eisen-Martin, winner of a California Book Award and an American Book Award, on April 25, and an evening of South Asian-American poetry on April 30.

The Talking Chair at the Robbins Library in Arlington, MA features audio recordings of poems written and read by Arlingtonians of all ages and by Arlington Poet Laureate Cathie Desjardins. It was developed by Emily Calvin-Bottis, a digital and interactive experience designer and Arlington resident, with support from the Arlington Cultural Council.
