Paper Clip

Tap, Tap, Tap
Someone left this
Paper clip
Twist it, shape it without thought
Suddenly it’s a heart, a tear, a silvery, silky flower
Tormented, twisted, tapped to uselessness
Paper clip
Door opens, he walks in, tapping gets faster
Tap, Tap, Tap
Tap, Tap, Tap
This at first cold, now hot as my breath
Paper clip
The purest manifestation of my inner thoughts
Like my heart, it beats quickly, heats up as he sits next to me
Silvered, saw dusted, swarming sound of a
Paper clip
The incessant noise outweighs the voices
Tap, Tap, Tap
Tap, Tap, Tap
Ringing and tapping
Paper clip
Lost from his heart, he puts his hands on his face
Ignoring my eyes with everything he has
Beating, bent out of shape, broken to no return
Paper Clip
Snap back to reality
Tap, Tap, Tap
